Dr Andrew Tilley

Research Fellow in the Synthesis of Organic Light-Harvesting Materials
The University of Melbourne

PhD in Chemistry, University of Melbourne (2012)
Graduate Certificate in Commercialisation, Melbourne Business School (2011)
BSc (Honours), University of Melbourne (2007)

Research themes:
Excitonic Systems for Solar Energy Conversion
Excitonic Systems for Security, Lighting and Sensing

Tilley has expertise in the synthesis and photophysics of organic semiconductors, and is interested in how molecular structure can be used to control how excitons are created and utilized in organic materials. His work within the centre will focus on developing new triplet sensitizers for photochemical upconversion, and near-infrared emitting dyes.
