Article: Working out why quantum dots blink

Quantam dots are finding applications in quantum computing, solar cells and next-generation televisions, writes Joel Hooper in an article in Cosmos that outlines recent research by Director, Prof. Paul Mulvaney and colleagues .

The article explains that the key to application of quantum dots might be understanding why their light emissions turn on and off or "blink".  It discusses the outcomes of Mulvaney and colleagues' research that has been published on ChemRxiv, the chemistry pre-print service.
